Not all developments and enhancements will benefit from the application of digital engineering techniques; deciding which will requires sound decision analysis. This webinar will explore the definition of digital engineering, how it relates to model-based systems engineering, and what is and isn’t suggested as the government seeks to streamline development and deployment of technical capabilities. Geoff Kerr, senior research associate in systems and digital engineering at Virginia Tech National Security Institute, will moderate the discussion. Panelists include: Tamara Hambrick, director of systems engineering, integration and test at Boeing Defense, Space and Security; David Harrison, Lockheed Martin’s lead for scientific test and analysis techniques and uncertainty quantification; and Philomena Zimmerman, who retired from the Defense Department in 2022 after nearly 40 years of service and specializes in modeling, simulation and use of model-based techniques to support systems engineering.
