Focus

CCM supports the rapid capabilities development of prototype directed energy weapons and equips the DoD with the tools and methods necessary to evaluate directed energy weapons and directed-energy-based countermeasures. Because of rapid technological advancements, CCM also supports operational performance assessments of select counter unmanned aircraft systems—as installed, integrated, and employed in representative environments.

Capabilities & Instrumentation

HRTS

HRTS

The HRTS provides absolute radiometric and multi-spectral imaging of targets, high energy laser engagement data points, as well as Time-Space-Position Information along flight paths, starting from HRTS target acquisition until target flight path termination.

BATS

BATS

The BATS measures high energy laser engagements. It can be deployed as a static ground-based, standalone system or as a dynamic system mounted on an unmanned aerial vehicle. It collects data on beam characteristics, such as beam size, irradiance, jitter, and power-in-the-bucket.

SLIM 8

SLIM 8

Mounted on an unmanned aerial vehicle, the SLIM 8 profiles high energy laser engagements along representative engagement paths. It collects data on beam characteristics, such as beam size, irradiance, jitter, and power-in-the-bucket.

Flat Plate Calorimeter

Flat Plate Calorimeter

The Flat Plate Calorimeter is a combined calorimeter and camera system that collects and processes beam characteristics, such as beam size, irradiance, and power-in-the bucket.

Quasi-Static Imaging Suite

Quasi-Static Imaging Suite

The Quasi-Static Imaging Suite is a Beam Characterization Sensor Suite that provides high energy laser beam characterization of static and quasi-static targets in a compact configuration. Measurements include beam size, beam centroid, aim point, jitter, multi-spectral body damage imagery, radiometric imagery, beam on, beam off, burn through, and target temperature.

Dynamic Atmospheric Characterization System

Dynamic AtmosphericCharacterization System

The atmospheric instrumentation suite gathers measurements of Fried parameter and atmospheric turbulence on both static and dynamic paths through various environments.

Weather / Atmospheric

Weather/Atmospheric

The Delayed Tilt Anisoplanatism (DELTA) Dual-Aperture Sky Turbulence Profiler models atmospheric turbulence from standard weather observables.

The Large Aperture Scintillometer BLS900 measures atmospheric, turbulence, heat flux, and crosswind.

RADA Radar RPS-82

RADA Radar RPS-82

The RADA Radar RPS-82 is a multi-mission, four-dimension active electronic scan array pulsed Doppler radar. It is equipped with nine channels and provides 360o hemispheric search and track of unmanned aerial system targets, rockets, artillery, and mortars.
