Project Synopsis: The goal of Space-BACN is to create a reconfigurable, multi-protocol, intersatellite, optical communications terminal that is low size, weight, power and cost; is easy to integrate; and will be able to connect heterogeneous constellations that operate on different optical intersatellite link (OISL) specifications and otherwise wouldn’t communicate with each other. By eliminating stovepipes and “connecting space,” Space-BACN will help enable the joint all-domain fight.
