Focus

CCM provides unique assets for pre-deployment training–such as missile plume simulators, MANPADS, and radio frequency simulators–to support pre-deployment exercises in contested, realistic, and near-peer environments. CCM assists trainers with their tactics, techniques, and procedures development intended to enhance warfighter survivability in combat environments.

Capabilities & Instrumentation

MANPADS

MANPADS

The MANPADS surrogate is an instrumented inert system (with installed threat seeker) that provides an open-air threat engagement to test aircraft infrared countermeasure systems. The MANPADS surrogate system's real-time data collection capability provides seeker tracking and acquisition data as well as video of the aircraft's countermeasure responses and maneuvering.

Ultraviolet Mallina Simulator

UV Mallina Simulator

The Mallina Simulator is a long-range ultraviolet stimulator capable of testing aircraft electro-optical sensor suites to alert aircrews to simulated threats.

Radio Frequency HPRTS & PRTS

HPRTS (upper left) and PRTS (lower right)

The HPRTS and PRTS are ruggedized, deployable, ground-based, open-loop radio frequency threat radar simulators. They are designed to provide free-space emulation of threat radar signals and can generate full-threat modulations, including single simulations or simultaneous engagement scenarios. The HPRTS simulates radio frequencies from 4 − 18 gigahertz. The PRTS—a smaller, more compact unit— simulates radio frequencies from 2 − 18 gigahertz. These systems can produce threat-representative effective radiated power. The range of radio frequency simulations makes the HPRTS and PRTS optimal for testing radar warning receivers on targeted aircraft.

JMITS & MSALTS

JMITS (upper left) & MSALTS (lower right)

The JMITS and MSALTS are self-contained systems providing missile plume simulations. They encompass dual-band infrared and ultraviolet emitters capable of replicating missile plumes. They transmit threat-representative ultraviolet and infrared missile plume signatures at missile warning systems to test system response. The systems have infrared radiometers to collect/measure directed infrared countermeasure response characteristics. The simulators also facilitate system control, data acquisition, recording, storage, and analysis. An atmospheric suite is also included for characterizing prevailing atmospheric conditions impacting infrared countermeasure systems and missile simulators.
